Description
Tricot is the Dutch name for Jersey, tricot is derived from the French word knit. So it is not a type of fabric but a knitting technique. Jersey is comfortable and stretchy. Perfect for many garments.
This is a jersey with pre-dyed yarns woven in a pattern. This is different from the normal jersey, which is dyed after the fabric is woven. Yarn-dyed fabric is made by weaving coloured threads together to form patterns. Dyeing the yarn before it is woven into fabric creates a unique, artisanal look that is very different from the typical printed designs you see on piece-dyed fabric.
